details. William Sale enlisted at London 10 September 1897 aged 21 years 6 months. Born Bury
St. Edmunds. Occupation horse keeper. Landed in France 11 November 1914. Discharged at
Crystal Palace, London 17 May 1919. Described on discharge as “A steady sober reliable man.”
Served in ‘Q’ Battery RHA and 1st Indian Cavalry Ammunition Park in WW1.
