including Young, an enlargement of Young from the
same photograph, a transcript of a letter from
Young to his brother published in the Gloucesters’
Journal 5 May 1900 and medal verification details.
The Gloucesters’ archives mention that Young was
one of five men of the battalion awarded the DCM
who particularly distinguished themselves in
bringing in the wounded at Paardeberg. Served in
2nd Battalion.
