Patmore, 1st Bn. Gord. Highrs
John Bailey and Francis Patmore  enlisted  only a few days apart between the 2nd and 4th
of February  1891. Both men died on campaign and are buried at Rawalpindi. Bailey died on
November 4th, 1895 and Patmore a short time later on November 29th, 1895.

In a similar set of circumstances to the IGS medals for
Hay and McCabe, I have paired
these medals. Their only entitlement. Enlisted together and died together.

John Bailey's medal was part of the Tinlin collection (Glendinings 1965)
Grave at Rawalpindi -
"In loving memory of our late comrade Private John Bailey, 1st Gordon
Highlanders. Departed this life on 3rd November 1895. Aged 25 years.
Deeply regretted by his comrades.
Erected by the officers, NCOs and men of G Company."
Seen below are pictures of the memorial in Duthie Park, Aberdeen. It lists those
men who were killed or died of wounds or disease during their tour of service in
India from January 1892 to November 1898 and includes both Bailey and Patmore.
