Alfred Savage
Indian Mutiny medal with clasp "Delhi" : Alfd Savage 75th Regt
Alfred Savage was born around 1830 in Goswich Suffolk and was a shoemaker. He
enlisted at Rochester Kent on Jan17, 1852 and was assigned number 3264. He served 9
yrs 226 days before being discharged as unfit.

He served in No 2. Coy during the siege of Delhi and received 1 share  of the prize
money which amounted to 86 Rupees.


He was promoted to Cpl on April 1, 1852 but after being absent without leave 2 years
later he was in confinement for two weeks and subsequently demoted to Private. He was
promoted again in 1858 but later imprisoned and demoted.

He was reported to have died about Aug, 1864
